Falls from heights and ladders continues to be a leading cause of fatalities and critical injuries. Working at Heights is now a mandatory course for all Workers who work at heights or who work from a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP). Courses may only be taught by a CPO-approved Training Provider. All Working at Heights training certifications must be renewed every 3 years.
At TOTAL Safety Management, our Instructors have extensive knowledge and experience in Working at Heights and Safety Preparedness. With courses offered each month, Employers have the convenience of ensuring all required training is completed without disruption to day-to-day operations.
Our comprehensive half-day, in-class Working at Heights training course includes both Theory and, hands-on, Practical instruction. Ultimately, providing Employees with the most realistic training environment and ensuring that when an emergency occurs, Employees are equipped with the tools and knowledge to effectively respond.

Course Overview
PART 1: THEORY
As a leader in Health and Safety education and training, our comprehensive, in-class training program not only meets mandatory Provincial requirements, but exceeds them. This one-day CPO-approved course is designed for Employees and includes Emergency First Aid, CPR, AED, and Naloxone training. Emphasis is placed on emergency decision-making, scene safety, and effective injury assessment and treatment. Through classroom instruction and scenario-based training and testing this course will cover:

PART 2: PRACTICAL SKILLS DEMONSTRATION
As part of the comprehensive Working at Heights-INITIAL training course, all participants must successfully complete a mandatory Practical Skills Demonstration (PSD) that includes:
- inspecting and putting on and taking off a safety harness
- successfully demonstrating how to inspect a lanyard
- correct selection of appropriate anchors
- proper set-up and use fall protection equipment

Who Should Take This Course?
This course is designed for frontline Employees in all Sectors. Working at Heights is a
mandatory training course in Ontario for anyone Working at Heights and operating a Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP). Upon successful completion, participants will receive a wall certificate and wallet card. In addition, all participants receive complimentary academic tracking and re-currency reminder service.
Prerequisites
Participants must have completed a CPO-approved Working at Heights-INITIAL course. Proof is required upon registration.
Equipment Required
There is no training equipment required for this course. Participant training manuals and all required reading materials are included in the cost of the course. Mandatory participant dress code is business casual.

Recurrency and Recertification
All certificates issued are valid for three years and must be renewed. Included as part of the Working at Heights Aid training program is complimentary academic tracking and a re-currency training reminder service.
