TRAINING TERMS Of REFERENCE
TOTAL Safety Management prides itself on the high quality of training standards and instructional services. As such, we have a full-time Registrar who co-ordinates all training, including scheduling, registration, certificates and tracking. As well as, providing student assistance and support. We have worked very hard to make the course registration process easy for both individual applicants and companies alike.
REGISTRATION
Registering for courses is easy. The first step is to review the Training Calendar and locate the course you are interested in and available dates. The next step is to email the Registrar at
info@totalsafetymanagement.ca to request a seat in that course. The Registrar will confirm if space is available and, if full, advise of other possible dates. All participants must provide their full name, telephone number and a working email at the time of Registration along with full payment. No seats will be reserved for any course without full payment prior to the start date of the course. All courses are booked on a first-served basis and several courses have limited class sizes based on Ministry standards. Applicants may be added to a waiting list or booked into the next available class.
PROOF of training for re-certification courses
If participants have not trained with TOTAL Safety Management previously, they will be required to show successful Proof of Training for Refresher or Re-Certification courses. This must be provided to the Registrar at the time of Registration.
CONFIRMATION & ORIENTATION PACKAGE
Once registered Applicants will receive an email confirmation from the Registrar confirming the number of seats registered and paid for. In addition, the Registrar will also include a course Orientation package, detailing out class start times, location address and any other information applicable to the course, such as required equipment (ie. PPE) to bring.
APPLICATION FORM & PAR-Q
Participants will be required to complete an Application, in full, on the day of the course for record keeping and Ministry registration purposes. In addition, for all courses involving Practical Skill Demonstrations (PSD), a PAR-Q must also be completed, in full, prior to the start of the course. A PAR-Q is simply a Participant Questionnaire that is standard any time a participant is taking part in physical activities. Ensuring that they are both fit and able to do the tasks required as part of the course.
PAYMENT & RECEIPTS
We have several convenient options for payment. Payment may be made by VISA, Mastercard, E-transfer, direct deposit or corporate cheque. Cash and personal cheques are not accepted. All participants will be given a copy of the receipt and/or invoice for all Registration fees. All course costs are subject to applicable HST.
TRANSFER of REGISTRATION CREDITS
In the event of an emergency, TOTAL Safety Management will assist applicants in re-registering into a different course. This must be received by the Registrar, in writing, and must be completed a minimum of 48 hrs prior to the start of the course start date.
CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
Cancellation for any course must be made in writing to the Registrar at
info@totalsafetymanagement.ca. All course fees are non-refundable except in the case of a medical emergency. Any cancellations received within 24 hrs of a course start date will not be refunded. In the event of emergency withdrawal, refunds will only be issued upon receipt of a letter from an authorized medical practitioner. The expense of which is the sole responsibility of the Applicant. Applicants are permitted to transfer Registration credits to another upcoming course.
ATTENDANCE & LATENESS
Participants are expected to arrive at the time specified in the Orientation package to ensure all mandatory paperwork is completed prior to the course starting. Participants will not be permitted to any course in the event of lateness that exceeds 30 minutes after the scheduled course start time. Due to the technical aspect of many of the courses, participants must fully attend and participate in all courses in order to meet Certification requirements. In the event of illness during any class, the participant may be excused and re-registered into another course at no additional cost.
MANUALS & MATERIALS
All participant manuals, workbooks, handouts, and/or materials are included in the priced of each course and will be handed out prior to the start of the respective course.
CERTIFICATES
For all Certification courses, successful participants will receive both a Wall Certificate and Wallet Card as proof of successful completion of the respective course. This includes the issue date and expiry date for Re-Certification. All certificates are individually numbered and TOTAL Safety Management maintains an electronic copy of both the Wall Certificate and Wallet Card for all participants in the event of loss or inadvertent destruction. Participants should contact the Registrar for replacement requests. For all Seminars, participants will only receive an Attendance Certificate and no wallet card.
ACADEMIC TRACKING & REMINDER SERVICE
All participants receive a unique Student ID No upon Registration for all courses that is used for academic tracking and reporting purposes. As part of TOTAL Safety Management's comprehensive Training services, all Certifications are tracked and participants receive a complimentary reminder notification to complete upcoming Refresher or Re-Certification training.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All personal information collected is strictly Confidential and will not be released to anyone without the express written consent of the Applicant pursuant to TOTAL Safety Management's Privacy Policy.
