Awareness and proactive emergency preparedness training is vital in any organization for the safety and security of all staff. From ensuring proper education and training under the First Aid Regulations 1101 to routine equipment inspections and scenario-based exercises.  An effective Emergency Response Plan (ERP) relies on the ability of all Employees to confidently recognize an emergency situation, properly assess it and know how to respond.  This starts with qualified instruction.

At TOTAL Safety Management, our First Aid instructors have extensive knowledge and experience in Emergency Response and Preparedness.  With courses offered each month, Employers have the convenience of ensuring all required training is completed without disruption to day-to-day operations.

Our comprehensive First Responder training includes in-class Theory, hands-on Practical instruction, and routine scenario-based exercises.  Ultimately, providing Employees with the most realistic training environment and ensuring that when an emergency occurs, Employees are equipped with the tools and knowledge to effectively respond.

Course Overview

As a leader in Health and Safety education and training, our comprehensive, in-class training program not only meets mandatory Provincial requirements, but exceeds them. This one-day WSIB approved course is designed for Employees and includes Emergency First Aid, CPR, AED, and Naloxone training for cottage, camp and resort owners. Emphasis is placed on emergency decision-making, scene safety, and effective injury assessment and treatment. Through classroom instruction and scenario-based training and testing this course will cover:

E911 System and Reporting

Responding to an Emergency

Injury Assessment and Treatment

Head and Neck Injuries

Breathing and Circulation Emergencies

Bone, Joint and Joint Injuries

Wound Care and Immobilization

Allergies, Poision and Shock

Remote Rescue and Water Emergencies

Respiratory and Cardiac Arrest-CPR Audult/Child/Infant

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Who Should Take This Course?

This course is designed for owners of cottages, camps and resorts and their staff.  Upon successful completion, participants will receive a wall certificate and wallet card.  In addition, all participants receive complimentary academic tracking and re-currency reminder service.

Prerequisites

There is no prerequisite for this training course. 

Equipment Required

There is no training equipment required for this course. Participant training manuals and all required reading materials are included in the cost of the course.  Mandatory participant dress code is business casual.

Recurrency and Recertification

All certificates issued are valid for three years and must be renewed.  Included as part of the First Aid training program is complimentary academic tracking and a re-currency training reminder service.
