Pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations, Employers must ensure that they have a written Emergency Response Plan (ERP). This requires not only a written ERP Plan, but mandatory training for all staff. Ensuring all Employees know their roles and responsibilities in an emergency.
The nature of workplace and job-site emergencies varies depending on the sector and type of work being carried out. Part of an effective Health & Safety Program is evaluating all of the hazards and risks and developing a site-specific Emergency Response Plan.
Emergency Drills start with pre-planning and operational briefing. This is followed by real-life scenarios with on-scene Evaluators monitoring their response, decision-making and actions. Upon completion, all personnel participate in a de-briefing followed by submission of an analysis and recommendation report.

EVACUATION DRILL
The basic drill for all companies and organizations is an Evacuation Drill where all personnel exit the building due to an unknown emergency. This includes review of emergency preparedness and readiness, locations of emergency equipment and safe egress procedures.
FIRE DRILL
Required a minimum of once each year, fire drills provide staff with essential training in responding to a fire and/or explosion in a building. As well as, egress procedures, accountability and dealing with missing persons and medical emergencies.
ACTIVE SHOOTER-HOSTILE INTRUDER DRILL
An vital part of any Emergency Response Plan, the Active Shooter-Hostile Intruder drill takes participants through key strategies of responding to an armed intruder. Building on the Theory part of the training, participants learning the key strategies of RUN-HIDE-FIGHT.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY DRILL
Key to dealing with any emergency is being put in life-like situations in a controlled environment. Testing participants ability to recall their training and make decisions under pressure, including scenarios such as heart attacks, lacerations and mental health.
FIRST AID/CPR & AED TRAINING
A mandatory requirement under the WSIA, courses offered include both Emergency and Standard First Aid/CPR and AED, as well as Naloxone training. Providing Employees with the knowledge and hands-on skills to confidently deal with a medical emergency.
