Design and development of custom workplace policies to ensure Legislative and Corporate Policy compliance.

The purpose of an effective Health & Safety program is to prevent workplace injuries and occupational illnesses.  Under the Internal Responsibility System (IRS), workplace safety is a shared responsibility between Employers and Employees. This requires a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities and a defined strategy for safe work practices. Injury prevention begins with early hazard recognition through routine safety audits and inspections.

As part of the TOTAL Safety Management system, our comprehensive Health & Safety program includes structured inspections and audits throughout the year. From initial start-up project compliance audits to daily site inspections, equipment checklists and personal protection equipment (PPE) audits. We can assist you in the design and development of site-specific safety inspection checklists. In addition, our services also include third-party, External Safety Audits, COR preparation and Sub-Contractor Pre-Qualification Audits.

As your partner in workplace safety, we design a safety monitoring and reporting system that ensures your organization exceeds minimum Legislative and Regulatory requirements. Our customized audit and inspection services include:

HEALTH & SAFETY AUDITS

For full-time or long-term projects, the Health & Safety Audit provides initial and ongoing feedback on the organization's current Health & Safety status, including identifying areas in compliance, those needing updating and recommendations for future program development.

SITE INSPECTIONS

Daily workplace inspections are mandatory under the OHSA and Regulations and are designed to ensure a standard format of operational safety. Custom-designed, these site-specific inspections, ensure that workplaces are safe and comply with all Legislative and Regulatory requirements.

COMPLIANCE AUDITS

Included in the Health & Safety program are routine inspections and scheduled audits to ensure all safety information is accurate and up-to-date, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) sheets and WHMIS training.

EQUIPMENT & VEHICLE INSPECTIONS

Employers are required to ensure that Workers are properly trained on the safe use and operation of all equipment and vehicles, including conducting daily inspections, damage reporting and hazard awareness.

SITE SAFETY ORIENTATIONS

For new Employees, the Site Safety Orientation (SSO) is part of the C.O.R.E training program and initial project start-up for all staff, sub-contractors and visitors. Focusing on workplace safety and operational procedures, they are a mandatory component of athe Health & Safety program.

JHSC MEETINGS

Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC) play a vital role in workplace safety. Employers, Supervisors and Employees must clearly understand their workplace mandate, roles and responsibilities and inspection criteria, including the HSB and mandatory posting requirements.
